The iPad is finally slimming down.
Ever since the iPad 2, the newer versions of the iPad have been larger than the last. This trend will come to an end with the reported release of the iPad 5 in July.
According to a report from Digitimes, the new 9.7-inch iPad 5 will be 25 percent to 33 percent lighter than the iPad 4.
A thinner layer of glass for the touch screen and a smaller LED backlight system to support the Retina display is the main reason for this weight loss.
It’s about time Apple slimmed it down. I find it kind of sad that my iPad 2 is still the slimmest iPad that’s been made until now. Maybe this means it’s time for me to upgrade? So definitely count me among those looking forward to the release of the iPad 5.
